But I dont see any reasons why it cant be done in AIR ! It's a compiled language, so it can fit in life-critical applications. I can imagine down the track a power plant hiring a developer who only happens to know web-technologies and so uses AIR because it's what he knows :) Just as people currently use images, Flash, JavaScript or HTML in the wrong situation.
