So Facebook just recently launched their full-fledged Application Platform. Which certainly one-ups what they had before. With full integration into the Facebook website, you can create applications that act just like any other component, like the preexisting Photos, Events, and Marketplace. You can hook into several different parts of the interface, such as the left-hand menu, the user’s feed and profile, and of course the actual content area, or the canvas as it’s called.
This is an exciting development, the potential audience plus the viral factor of Facebook’s user feeds means getting your application out there might be easier than you think — assuming you’ve got a good idea.
I’ll have to toy around with this when I get the chance.

This is cool, I wasn’t expecting them to allow you to hook into the menus etc. Seems that unlike MySpace, Facebook actually have a clue when it comes to web development.
